i've been trying too ring a friend in the isle of whight from my home in somerset, england, but it hasnt been working. ive used the area code, and their home phone number, but it still isn't working? is there a code i need too enter before, for the isle of whight ?

  1. The Isle of Wight is within the general U.K. numbering plan and should be dialed in exactly the same way as any other call from within the country, i.e. area code plus number, so 01983 xxxxxx.

    If it isn't working, then either you have the wrong number or there is a fault.
