Question:

I want you to give me your opinion about planet X?

Like do you believe in the catastrophic events of solar storms and whatever more they talk about. To me it sounds kind of true but I don't know, I want an opinion from a real person, unlike the people in their websites. It sounds more like a hoax now that I saw how expensive their "survival" guides were.

If you have no idea what I am talking about you can watch Planet X on youtube, here is the link, and their are five videos.

  1. There were many theroies about the edge of the solar system. It turned out that something was pulling on neptunes, uranas's, and pluto's. many scientists thought it was a black hole and some think that its a planet.

  2. catastrophic events will always happen anywhere, but personally im not sure if i believe in that planet x theory, the only news i have really heard about planet x is that its just a newly discovered planet and nothing more than that, if something about planet x is a threat to us, then im sure more poeple would be aware of it like how everyone knows and is aware of global warming, and if it is a threat to us, it seems kind of stupid to make a survival guide about it.

  3. HOAX!

  4. go to google then you can find answer there.

  5. Planet X (the real one, not the c**p about 2012) is a planet that should exist well beyond Pluto, according to statistical analysis of the Kuyper belt object that have been discovered so far.

If it exist (since it is a statistical probability, then it is also possible that it does not exist), it would have to be on a relatively stable orbit that keeps it in the Kuyper belt.  If it had a very eccentric orbit, it would have caused disruptions in the near Kuyper belt, and we would have detected these disruptions.

The "Planet X" of the videos  is a fake, invented for the Big 2012 Hoax Off (and to scare people into buying a book).

It started off as "Nibiru" which is an invention by a translator, working with the first documents we had from Sumerians. This guy (the translator) had a vivid imagination and combined what he understood from the old Sumerian texts, with some imaginative interpretations of the Bible, and came up with a legend of a planet that comes close to Earth every 3700 years (or so).  He had "calculated" that the next return was for 2085 or later (not before).

Even this guy was fed up to see how "his" fictitious planet was hijacked and forced to participate in the Big 2012 Hoax Off.  When he started to make enough noise, the charlatans changed to Planet X.

If Planet X really existed, it would already be visible in ALL the telescopes of amateur astronomers.  There are millions of amateur astronomers all over the planet.

And I'm certain that we could find a few amateur astronomers who are not secretly working for the US government.

    ---

The Part 1 of 5 video begins with the "discovery" by IRAS which a US paper announced as Planet X.  In reality, it turned out to be a galaxy (extremely far from our solar system) that was bright in infra-red but faint in visible light.

  6. Your first clue that something is not necessarily true or accurate is that it was on YouTube.

Anyone can post anything they want there, there is no requirement that it be right or accurate or true or anything like that.

There is no way I would trust anything on YouTube.

Planet X (also called Nibiru) is hypothetical, meaning it doesn't exist.

No evidence, no proof, nothing.  And scientists and amateur astronomers have been looking for it (and any other planets out there) for decades.

Check out wikipedia, search on Planet X or Nibiru for details on this "object".

  7. how can ANY of it sound 'kinda true'?  Its all baloney!  Made up top to bottom of lies and stupid stupid stupid lack of science.

Planet X cannot exist for the GLARINGLY simple reason that it DIDN'T.  Think about it.  Can you SEE Planet X?  (no)  ((thats me answering for you))... why not?  Too far away?  Wrong color?  Only visible in infra-red?  WHO CARES!  If you can't see it now... then the only two explanations for its NEXT visit is:  We saw it in the past, which we didn't... the Solar System would SHOW the passage of a planet/star/Giant Squid... the orbits of the Inner Planets are WAY too round.  OR  someone dreamed that Planet X was on the way.

    I'll take my chances.

  8. Ignore it.

  9. no dont care your probably not going to get answers buddy i need points

  10. Glad to see that you have been able to maintain some degree of skepticism in the light of so much hysterical mis-information these days.

Planet X was a general term for any supposed planet which hasn't been discovered yet. It has been used in hypothetical contexts.  Some legitimate scientific suggestions have considered the possibility of a planet with a long term, highly elliptical orbit, which might cause comets to plunge into the inner solar system. For this to occur, the planet would have to be quite large.  These theories have been largely dismissed.  Contrary to popular belief, no Planet X (or Nibiru) has ever been discovered. And contrary to the claims of the crackpot, Zechariah Sitchin, there is no ancient record of the passing of some other planet, close to the earth.

Thanks to the calculations of Bikenbee, a regular contributor here, such a planet would have to be a magnitude of about 7.4 now, if it was due to reach the earth's orbit in 4 years.  It would have been discovered years ago. No, there is no conspiracy to keep it secret.  That would be impossible, as any amateur with a modest telescope could see it now.

All other doom prophecies, and their supposed sources, related to 2012, are bunk as well.  There have been many, since the History Channel's ridiculous documentary on the subject. There will be many more who just can't resist piggybacking their pet doom prophecies onto this 2012 thing.
