they don't give out local numbers, we've changed to Abbey (they don't either but offer better rates) you must go through the call centre or else go there personally

phone yellow pages, tell them wat nbr you want, they will give u and 0845 nbr, BUT, it will get you through to yr closest hsbc  branch, hope it helps.
