  1. Don't listen to people who tell you to buy one brand or the other. That decision is up to you. Essentially at the entry level they are all pretty comparable and unless you need pro features I would buy the one that is more comfortable to hold. Shouting off technical data that you wont understand is useless. That will come later with a class in photography and reading your owners manual so to speek. What I would do is hold the canon then hold the Nikon and see what camera feels more comfortable to you. Both entry level lenes are excellent with the two cameras you are looking at.

The main thing to consider is then when you start off with a camera stick with that brand. It's an investment and well lenes and accessories come into play. Nikon and or Canon and even Pentax all have their own line of lenes and accessories to suit your needs.

  2. I'd go with the nikon.

I have a nikon d40 and this camera is amazing.

and for the price 500 dollars I must say its great.

the pictures come out great and the quality is fantastic,

    every detail is captured.

go with the nikon, canon is very expensive

  3. I would buy the Nikon.

  4. i suggest nikon d40

  5. I Get This All The Time..

    The Battle Between Them...

And, the camera you should get is the nikon d40, and that's for a couple of reasons, reasons which i'll explain here:

    1) You Have a much larger screen on the d40, it's a 2.5 inch screen, and you can fit alot into frame, however with the 350d you only have a 1.8 inch screen, which is a real pain, and you can't fit much into the frame of the picture.

2)Don't mind the 350d's eight megapixels, because the nikon d40's six do just fix, and i think the image quality is better, as well as the camera's build quality. On the 350d, there's no grip to hold onto when you're taking a picture, however on the nikon d40, there's a nice grip for you to hold on to, and it's really comfortable.

    http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Digital-18-5...

don't mind the 479$ price, it goes down in days, amazon doesn't keep it straight, but i have this camera, and i love it, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's a beautiful camera which make colors look so dramatic.
