I just felt it and the table yelled at me so I didnt well I would have gotten a 4 and the dealer wouldn't have gotten a 21 and everyone lost their money.

do you hate getting hustled by the seasoned "pros" at blackjack tables??? Its not my fault they spend their entire paychecks to casinos! Im there to have fun and I could have won on my hunch!

  1. It's a c**p shoot when the dealer has a 2. Against a 2, I would have hit. Anything higher and you should stay. Don't worry about anybody else at the table. You are there to win money for YOU. They don't like your play, then they are more then welcome to find another table. I can't stand the people that play $25+ at a $5 table and then get pissed when someone makes an odd move. Are they trying to impress people with their money.

  2. Yup, this time you would have been a winner!

But most times you would have lost because there were 7 cards that would have busted your hand verses only 6 that would have helped it.

Blackjack is played based on basic strategy, which has calculated the basic statisitical probability of your winning in any given situation, and more experienced players know that in the long run playing basic strategy is the best method. When they see someone who deviates from the basic strategy, they think it affects the cards they get and draw to, so they don't like it.

One way to help win at blackjack is to count cards, and some people do this and can have a slight edge in the game. Another way is to play the Blackjack Betting Trigger. Here  is a link to that.

    Good luck at the tables.

  3. just play with confidence. if you know what you are doing, they'll forgive you if you take a bad card here and there. usually when i play third base, i save the rest of the table a lot more than i trash them. they also aren't "pros." a true pro would always sit on the end.

  4. No don't do it

  5. Anyone who thinks like that is an idiot.  You can play your game any way you like.  You don't have to play basic strategy, or any strategy.  The next card off could have been a ten to bust you and then maybe the next card was a four and gave the dealer 21.

Similarly if player in seat 3 had not chosen to split, then a whole bunch of other different scenarios would have happened.

I think this kind of Blackjack snobbery is just stupid.  But you can avoid it by sitting closer to the right of the table (acting earlier).  It's usually one of the last few players to act who gets this kind of abuse from idiots.

  6. It's your money on the box no theirs, it's your choice. What were the pit staff doing, they should have said something.

  7. The bottom line is that you are there doing what YOU want with YOUR money. If you want to hit then hit. It's a wrong move statistically but again it is YOUR money.

I never say anything to other players at the table about the way they play. I can always move to another table

  8. there are a lot of people that think that when a dealer shows a 2 it is scary. which they are probably right. 2 is scary to them because if they dealer has any card 5-9 face down the table is in trouble.Them taking their " bust card " that everyone left for the dealer to take if no one hits their hand now becomes the tables death card and makes the dealers hand. Any play against a 2 is ok. 3 up is pushing it. But you should have a consistant stragety. Say you will always hit a sub par hand if the dealer is showing a 5 or less or never but you should have consistancy that is what will win in the long run.

  9. The correct play for a hand is calulated by figuring which play will make you win most oftan, you can still win playing the wrong, way, but you will win more oftan playing the correct way, the corret play for hard 15 vs 2 is to stand, also even if you are counting cards, there is not a feasble index at which hitting becomes the right play, so you never do that period, it just worstens your odds.

I find it amusing when people at the table tell me how to play my hands as if i dont know what i am doing, particularly when i make oddbal deviations like splitting tens or doubling soft 19s.  If they insist on playing my hand a particular way i will offer to sell them my hand for what i have in the betting circle, sometimes slightly less to intice them whenevr it is a negetive ev hand. That way they get what they want, and i dont lose money playing the hand in the first place.

  10. That one time you would have won but in the longrun it is a bad move to hit a 15 against a dealer 2.

The pros know the proper plays and most of them win in the longrun. Blackjack is a team game. Everyone needs to make solid decisions in order for everyone to win.

Vegas was built on people's "feelings". If I have a 19 and the dealer has a 6, even if I have an overwhelming "feeling" that the next card will be a 2, I am not going to take it.

I was playing roulette next to a guy. Black came up 5 times in a row and I saw this guy bet his entire stack ($1,800) on red because he knew that red was due. And he had a huge hunch that red was going to hit. I watched Black hit and he lost everything.

While you have the power to hit and stand when you want, blackjack is game where you should stick to the "statistically best play". If you do, you will win more often and still have a good time at the table.   Good luck!
