  1. Legally, you must be at least 18 years old; however, agencies consider much more than just age. You need to make sure you are financially stable enough to care for a child. Also, they look at your work past and make sure you have had a stable job for the past few years and they do a home check to see the environment the child would be living in. The majority of agencies try and not adopt to anyone younger than 25 years old though because they want them to be mature enough and have a stable living environment.

As for your sexual preference, many g*y couples are adopting kids nowadays so I don't think that will affect your chances of adopting.

    Good luck!

  2. I'm not sure how old you have to be. But no being g*y doesn't make any difference. A lot of g*y couples adopt so I'm pretty positive that it wouldn't make a difference.

  3. 21. Some people and agencies might not adopt to g*y couples but just research the Internet and look for g*y adoption agencies.

  4. actually in most states you can't adopt at 18, very few states allow you to adopt at 19, most states it's 21 and most adoption agencies require you to be 25 or older. The fact that you are g*y has little to do with anything, unless you openly admit it or you and your partner try to adopt together. Check with your state laws.

  5. well alot of agencies look into your background check to see if ur stable enough, most g*y couples adopt and just because of ur sexual orientation they cannot tell u otherwise.

  6. sexual orientation doesn't matter but some countries and adoption agencies do only consider couples meaning you cannot be single. and the more "experienced" you are the better so i would say at least 20

  7. You have to be 18.

As far as your sexual orientation making a difference - it may or may not.  Most domestic agencies are doing open adoption and the birth parents choose the adoptive parents.  All depends on a birth mom choosing you.

Lots of things make a huge difference in adopting - some birth moms want a religous couple who are unable to have their own children, some want the very opposite.  It all depends on where they're coming from and what they want for their child.  Most birth moms will pick people who are unable to have biological children.

Internationally - most countries don't allow g*y couples to apply for adoption.  Not trying to make people mad, I'm just trying to give some information.

  8. You have to be old enough to use correct punctuation and spelling and to form a complete sentence!!!!!
