yes. the wax goes on the top of the board because its water proof and it will give you a lot of traction.

remember when you want to put new wax on the board you have to scrape the old wax off!!

yes wax gose on top, also what the chap above said about scraping the wax off when you want to put new wax on is that this is not essential. i find that appliying new wax ontop of the existing wax creates better traction.
