I want to travel to mexico in March but I don't have passports for me and my kids.Can I still travel by land

  1. Karen is correct, passports are not neededfor LAND travel to Mexico...date will prob. be summer 2009.  You will need a notarized letter from the other parent if both are not going.  see site below and read section on MINORS under"Entry Requirements."


  2. New laws prevent you from doing so. you must get a pasport for you and all of your childeren (even infants). You can have it rushed, but that does cost extra.

  3. You must have a passport to fly in and out.  By land or sea you need a government-issued photo ID like a drivers license or State ID in the case of the kids, and CERTIFIED copies of all birth certificates.

    Right now it looks as if you will absolutely have to have the passport by June 1, 2009:

    If both parents are not traveling in and out of Mexico you need a notarized letter from the (absent) parent giving you permission to take the children out of the country.
