Question:

I was a victim of organized crime. Where can I get help?

I was the victim of a scam and lost my life savings. I tried reporting the crime to every law enforcement agency from my local police to the FBI and every agency told me that they had no jurisdiction. The scam took place in two states. No lawyer will help me or give me advice.

My own investigations show that this was a larger conspiracy that involved people inside the government. When one of the other victims filed a lawsuit against me, I showed proof of perjury and conspiracy to the judge, and to my knowledge, he did not report it. Where can I go for help? (The US Attorney will not investigate unless the complaint comes through the FBI.)

  1. The FBI has Jurisdiction in that case.  Give them another try.

  2. Organized crime usually involves wise guys; these are burly Italians with big hair, and you don't really want to get on their bad side.  They have been known to make people offers they can't refuse, and then there's the cement shoes thing.  Not good.

  3. As hard as it is to hear, you've spoken to many many professionals in all areas of the legal profession, who have told you that you don't have a case.

I'm sorry that you lost money, but sometimes you just have to let it go and move on.
