I was able to cut through the seeds of both a peach and nectarine with absolutely NO resistance. is it bad? ?

The fruit isn't bad at all.  Ripened well and ready to eat.  It's not unusual to have the seeds open easily.  You might want to experiment with these seeds and try to grow seedlings yourself.  It's fun to watch albeit it's a slow process.
