but fishing would be an obvious choice for all climates, and knowing how to catch and store rainwater or dig for groundwater.

First concern is fresh drinking water.  If none can be found, you will have to rig up some way of collecting rain water.  Second is shelter.  Building materials such as Palm fronds, Bamboo and tree limbs in order to build a lean-to.  Third is food, fish, or fresh fruit or land based wildlife.  Heat is also a concern in case of cold weather or need to build fire for cooking and rescue.  Praying wouldn't hurt either.

you need to know how to make a spear and use it to catch a fish....you need to know how to make and build a fire..without a lighter...you need to learn to fashion some sort of shelter.
