I am a 24 year old woman and I was assaulted by a man in a pub 2 days ago, he kicked me in the face and ribs causing bruising and swelling to my face and broken ribs. I have been to the hospital but I don't know about going to the police, can they do anything? I have no idea what the man looks like and I don't think that the witnesses will give evidence and I am scared of any repercusions due to this man be a total pshyco. What do I do, I need help somehow, even if its some kind of vitim support.

  1. the pub should have cameras so if you go to the police they can take it from there.but you need to go asap as the tapes could be taped over.if you dont take it to the police this man could do this again but cause more damage to the next woman.i mean this man is a pu**y,he can only hit women.get him done!!!!!! and victim support will be there for you when you make your complaint to the police

  2. You should report this.

I'll be realistic and honest by telling you that if you report it, there's a chance that the Police may not be able to catch the offender based on what you've said.

However, if you never report it, the Police can never investigate it and have a chance of catching the culprit.

If you do decide to report it, do it as quickly as possible as certain bits of evidence are only usually available for so long (CCTV is usually wiped after 28 days) and witnesses will remember less the more time goes on.

I would also let the Police have access to your medical records as this will show the severity of the injuries.

    Good luck

  3. YES go to the police. Others may have been attacked like you and they may have a suspect already. Also the police should be able to get you into touch with a victim support group or person in your area.

  4. Wow...I'm so sorry that happened to you! People just don't have the same respect for women that they used to. Anyway, I would file a report just to cover your bases.  Maybe someone would be willing to step up if they did see something. Otherwise, this guy is out there free to do this to someone else. I mean, he put you in the hospital, who knows what he's capable of.  But I wouldn't wait too long if you do decide to go, the sooner they can start an investigation, the better. Best of luck to you.

  5. Yes you should report it, next time he might kill somebody.

  6. Of course you should report it and do so as soon as possible incase there is video evidence which needs to be looked at before it gets wiped.  The police will then put you in touch with Victim Support who will look after you.  They do a great job.

  7. Yes, you should report this.  The police may be able to find out who your attacker was and they will also be able to refer you to a counselling service.

  8. Yes please be brave and go to the Police. They might even be able to get DNA and may easily be able to trace the man.

It is so sad that "other witnesses would be frightened"

    Courage!

  9. File a report.  Police cannot help you without one.

  10. I'm very sorry about your attack. I hope you are ok. My friend was assaulted last month but the police arrived at the scene.

Why weren't the police called to the pub?

You MUST report this, as if he were to ever do this again (hope to god not..) you need evidence of the previous incident. Also.. the police can not only check the pub CCTV (if there is any) then they can check the streets CCTV. And if he is that much of a psycho, he'll most likely have a record. Report it now, while your injuries can still be photographed by CSI.

Good luck, please let me know how you got on.
