I am in virginia. I didn't get any tomatos but I was wondering if the cross contamination could make me sick. I guess I'll find out in 12 hours.

  6. No, I don't think you have to worry. I eat at Subway all the time. And lots of other fast food places, and never got sick.

  7. I don't know what kind of tomato subway had but I work in a grocery store and we are still allowed to sell any tomato still attached to the vine and small tomatoes like grape tomatoes. I think you'll be ok.

  8. Oh my god they had tomatoes...a fresh fruit (or vegetable) I say don't do it eat snickers drink dew and live a full life...who need organic foods anyway...........Ka-Kow

  9. it could but its a very slim chance and subway is a BIG company now i am not saying its 100% safe but if you do get sick you can sue the c**p out of them for selling bad food lol but becuase they are a big company they are alittle safer now dont hold me to it i dont live there so i cant tell you for sure you know

  10. Weird, my daughter works at Subway, the company pulled all Tomatoes on Sunday, I saw the notice, it was a corporate notice that was sent to all stores across the nation....I wonder if that store just didnt get the message or why they hadnt pulled theirs yet.

  11. very doubtful..

  12. i beleive its only mcdonalds and taco bell.

  13. Yes They Do....... My friend at work got a meatball sandwich with tomatoes on it and ended up sick and in the hospital that night

  14. Call the health department and let them know!

  15. um yea about that don't u know that there tomatoes were there there was salmonella because when nobody uses the tomatoes or any food they just preserve it for the next day

  16. Maybe.I have decided that I am not going to eat tomatos from any fast food resteraunt just to  be safe.Since my grandparents have their own tomato garden I might eat some of those in spaghetti but not from fast food resteraunts.Plus I really don't care for tomatos anyway.I would rather be safe than sorry if I were you.

  17. I wouldn't worry. mostly where salmonella infected tomatoes are originating is Mexico...Where a subway in virginia would get tomatoes is more likely from virginia or the surrounding states.

  18. Someone's paranoid. "OMG A TMOATO I R GUNNA DAI :("

  19. No subway is usually clean. And if you do get sick you can always complain!

  20. It's possible. They should have had all the tomatos out of there by now though? :S

  21. I strongly doubt it.  We live in a culture of fear mongering, proliferated by the media.

  22. uh no not from tomatoes you wouldnt, its possible to get it from the meat, particularly if it was chicken or processed lunch meat but not from salad materials

  23. i dont think they do....i may b wrong but they shouldent

  24. You'll find out soon enough. Probably not though.

  25. you never know these tomatoes could end up anywhere now..so be very careful..

  26. Are you sure? Because I was at Subway less than an hour ago here in Indiana--and they didn't have them at all! They said they were banned everywhere right now..

  27. they probably dont have salmonella but I would not eat them for awhile just to be safe.

  28. Not sure if the recall is going on in your area, there is only certain states this is happening in......but im in California and it is definetly here.

I went to Subway today too and they had signs everywhere saying NO TOMATOS

  29. No, probably definitely not. Subway is a very good restaraunt!

  30. possibly...

  31. I used to work at subway and I don't think you really have to worry a cross contamination. They are usually pretty careful with changing their gloves, washing their hands, and normally the tomatoes don't come in contact with other food until they are on the sub. I hope this helped.
