I was at dundee falls here in ohio, and saw a black snake with a yellow ring on it's body. what is it?

was it pretty small and the ring was around it's neck. ??  I have seen many of these little snakes and still do not know what they are.  I think someone told me that because of the ring around its neck it was called a Parson snake but who knows.  I have seen these snakes all over...northern Ontario Canada, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Florida, they are all over and apparently harmless.

The snake you probably saw, and the one wahoo is referring to, is a ringneck snake. Small and harmless.
