He claims that people are stealing things off his desk. This isn;t true but he didn't get permission to do this. We live in Indiana is there anything that I can do about this. He doesn't have my consent to videotape me or anyone else in our office.

  1. notify a manager as soon as possible, or human resources.

  2. The courts have recognized a right of privacy based on the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution.  The state of Indiana guarantees privacy in its constitution and statutory law.   (See http://www.in.gov/pac/statutes/ or http://www.ilfonline.org/IFC/inlaw/confi...

check this site to see if your situation is covered by these State laws on privacy

  3. Your managers need to hold a company wide meeting and inform everyone as a whole that if they are found to be doing anything against company policy then they will be terminated on the spot. That way this person is not singled out and the point is made to everyone at the same time. I hope this helps.

  4. He can't hold the whole office hostage by threatening to contact the NAACP.  Just because he's black doesn't give him the right to deny others of their civil rights.  Since the management isn't going to do anything to help I think everyone in the office should ignore him completely for as long as it takes to make him behave properly.
