I was bad, what's going to happen?

I had to go to a store to get stuff for the company I work for. Well, the person that gave me the check didn't get both signatures on the check! (There are two spaces that have to be signed in order for the check to be valid.) The cashier asked me where to write the total on the check, and while she was asking me, she didn't notice the two signature requirements. Only one was signed. I was having a really rough, long day and I was not about to drive 30 miles back to my job so I could get it signed again and come back. So I didn't say anything. The cashier took it, and didn't notice. What's going to happen? Does anyone know?

  1. Generally, it's up to whoever reviews the cashed checks in your company.  If they complain to the bank that the document needed two signatures, they might send it back to the bank.  The bank generally doesn't do anything with them besides punch the number into the computer, they don't have time to check the signature block.  You should mention the issue to the accounting department where you work so that they won't have a cow and they will know the issue.  In all likelihood, they will appreciate the fact that you didn't go back to the office to get it countersigned.  You were guilty of nothing besides thinking outside the box and that's what they want you to do, right?

  2. if it's even noticed, the bank might call to verify that the transaction was legitimate

  3. if something does happen just say you had no reason to belive it was not singed properley and you must have over looked it worked well when i did it but im only 16 and my boss has delt with all that stuff him self since then cing as hes the one that didnt sign it even though hes the one that gave it 2 me lol xx
