Maybe it's because you look at the time many times throughout the day, but the only time that really stands out is the one you're looking for (11:04). Try noticing how many times you look at the time and it's NOT 11:04, you'll see it's probably just you seeing what you want to see.

That or the clock needs a new battery.

I think that it's coincidence.  

I regularly look at my digital clock and see "1111."  The first time this happened, I was in college, and stoned, and digital clocks were so new then,  that I couldn't figure out why this device had four verticle lines.  Then it turned "1112" and I laughed like h**l!  The four verticle lines were telling me that  it was 11:11 PM!
