I do not need a visa to visit Germany. However, my wife is a landed immigrant in Canada but holds a Chinese passport. She has a Canadian landed photo ID. Does she need a visa to visit Germany or Europe in general? She is a lawyer in China with a degree as a Paralegal in Canada.

  1. ask your wife---she's the lawyer

  2. she needs a visa

  3. If she doesn't hold a Canadian passport but travels on her Chinese passport, she has to apply for a visa.

The only exception would be if she's from Hong Kong or Macau and has a passport from there, but a mainland China passport  would require a visa.

Here's a link to website of the Federal Foreign Office with a list of countries and the visa requirements: http://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/diplo/en/...
