My excuse was so outlandish, I just broke out laughing over the phone. I still got off, but I'm nervous to go back tomorrow. What should I do?

  1. Grow up.

  2. i called in one day...told my boss i just got home from the dr...he said i had anal glaucoma...

boss says...that sounds serious what does it mean

    i say...means i can't see my a s s  coming to work today

lol...we both laughed....i got the day off w/ pay....good one

  3. There are good people that can't get jobs, and someone employs you when you have no desire to work and do a good job.

  4. Just pretend it never happened.

  5. Just be honest about it if asked.  I've done the same thing and never lost a job because of it.

  6. pretend nothing happened

  7. Just act normally. Everyone is entitled to be out sick and your boss is not going to waste his time grilling you.

  8. Calling in sick when you want a day off is incredibly common.  Many places allow for "personal days" so people don't have to resort to this kind of dishonesty.    I don't know what you do, but if you still have a job the next day I wouldn't pull this stunt again unless I was just dying.    Think of it from your employer's and fellow worker's point of view.  They have to cover for you on the day you are gone, or maybe pay someone to fill in for you even.  It can get expensive and inconvenient.  If you have any wish to advance in your chosen field I wouldn't do this.  Some places will fire you for the sadistic hill of it.

I would also learn to fake it better.  For crying out loud, take some acting lessons or something.

  9. Greatful-  if you have a job.

If they ask, appolygize for laughing.

If you have so little concern about the job, your position and or your co-workers, why do you do it?

Just about everyone has called-out when they could have worked, at one time or another but your flagerant use of something "outlandinsh" and the laughing makes me kinda wish that some responsible person that's out there without a job, that's trying to scrape buy and feed his/her family, would get your job while your busy laughing.

Sorry to be irritable about someone I don't even know but I'm tired and you sound irresponsible. Good Night.

  10. Lol.....what did you tell them? Im curious. Say you were with your mom or dad or someone and they made you laugh, and that it was inappropriate and you're sorry.

  11. Cry, alot!

  12. Oh no! Just say your little brother made you laugh because he came in your room with a box over his head or something.

This happened to me except I was saying that my flatmate had a heart attack. Uh oh.

  13. just don't bring it up but if they question u about it just find something funny on the tv that day and just go into a huge description of it. cause theyll believe that was the reason if u start to annoy them wit details

  14. Don't worry, there are plenty of other drive-thru restaurants that will hire you.

  15. Have a backup plan in case you don't have a job to go back to.  Hopefully your boss has a sense of humor.  Good Luck.

  16. -dont bring it up unless asked about it, and then try- not sure i had a fever and i was delirious or something in that vein... judging by this question i think you have a story to tell and think you should answer mine...

  17. Make sure you have something to back your excuse up with...

  18. Oh man you may have no job. If your lucky they didn't hear you laugh.

  19. If you don't have a history of calling out or unexcused absences, it might just be a write-up.  I don't know what your excuse was to really give advice, but I think you should act normal and not worry about it, as I don't suspect they tape the calls.  It was between you and whoever you called.

  20. Well being employer myself. If I heard the laugher I would not trust you anymore and your upward growth would now be limited.

You would only still have your job based on the decision if I would be able to effectively manage without you at this point.

    Good luck!

  21. tell them/him/her  that you were thinking of a joke you read earlier. Make sure you actually HAVE a joke to say you read online or heard from a friend

  22. Say you used too much medicine.

    haha.
