  2. The JVC GR-D750 is a miniDV tape based camcorder. ALL miniDV tape based camcorders tranfer video from the tape using the camcorder's DV port. You will need a firewire (IEEE1394a, i.Link - all the same thing) cable and plug in to your computer's firewire 400 port.

    MiniDV tape will provide the best available video quality because the DV format stored to the tape is the least compressed. Next down in video quality are certain internal hard drive and flash memory based computers... then come the still cameras and "toy" flip camcorders... and worst are the DVD based camcorders which are useful only as paperweights or door stops.
