I was cleaning out my lint trap to my dryer and a dry rag fell into the lint trap. Now my dryer wont turn on.?

  1. If you mean that you left the dry rag in the lint trap and then used the dryer, it has probably overheated. If you haven't used it, your dryer might be one that can detect if the airflow is blocked. Either way, the safety switch has probably tripped. Somewhere on the dryer, reachable from the front, you'll find a (usually red) Reset button. Remove the rag and push the reset button and your dryer should start.


  2. you are going to have to get the rag out. even if the dryer worked with the rag in it, it is likely that it would start a fire. there is probably a safety mechanism installed into your dryer so you don't accidentally start a fire.
