I was considering joining the LAPD and wanted to know something in regards to the background investigation?

I was considering joining the LAPD and wanted to know something in regards to the background investigation they perform on you. The reason I am asking is because about 3 years ago I had a workers compensation for a back related injury and was wondering if that will disqualify me from being hired. Do I have to mention that to the background investigator, will they be able to find out?. Will the fact that I am in the Army National Guard now and that i went thru Basic Training and Advance Training just about a month ago, were you do all kind of physical exercise and running be something they will take into consideration as proof that I am fine again?. I am kind of confused and will really appreciate some guidance.

Medical records are protected by HIPPA, so they will not have access to your claim.
