  1. Now, there's nothing wrong with painting your electronics, but I'm worried you'll accidentally get paint inside the cracks and ruin your devices. My recommendation is that you make a personalized skin in whatever color or design you want at mytego.com.

  2. You'll need rubbing alcohol, paper towels, paint brushes in different sizes, some masking tape, and a few toothpicks.  I would use the kind of paint you use on model cars- it'll stick to plastic.  And you'll need paint thinner or turpentine to clean your brushes.  A pair of latex gloves would also be a good idea.

    1) Sketch out your designs first, preferably to scale- it's easier to fix a mistake on paper than on your ipod or glyde.

    2) Make sure you have everything you need handy. Then put on the gloves if you have them- it'll keep the oil from your hands off the ipod and glyde.

    3) Put some alcohol on a paper towel (or some cotton balls) and gently wipe the parts that you will paint.  You need to remove the dirt and oils so the paint will stick and last better.

4)mask off any areas that won't get painted (like screens, buttons, etc)

    5)Start painting.

    CAUTION

Be very careful if you paint around the speaker holes, you don't want paint getting in there.

    Tips-

-use a really thin round brush for detailing- the harder you press, the thicker your line.

-use flat brushes for shading in larger areas

-use toothpicks to paint on very thin lines and tiny dots like eyes.

-if you are painting a background color or want a really crisp edge between colors, let the first paint dry really well before adding the next color.

-Start with the background color, then layer on. ( for a face- paint the skin, then eye whites then the iris then the pupil) it takes longer but looks better in the end, and takes less skill.

-if you're going to add a border, pinstripes, or writing, do that last so you don't have to paint around them.

    - if you get a little paint over the spaeker holes use toothpicks to clean them out before the paint dries (just don't poke in there very deep)

    - if you paint right up the edge of any buttons, run a toothpick along the crack to remove the paint so your buttons don't get stuck after the paint dries.

Good luck, have fun, and be creative.
