I was denied because i did'nt answer the question well and i think that is the reason why i was denied.?

that time im applying for a tourist visa for visiting relatives in japan. since i was denied i did not get my passport back because i thought once they denied you they will not give it back the documents especially the passport. my question is can get it back my passport even if it almost one year since i was denied? pls. help me and give me some advice on how to get it back. thanks

If I understand you right you went to the Japanese Embassy to get a visa and you were denied.  They should not have kept your passport.  They can deny you entry but your passport is issued by your home country.   I would find out where my passport was and notify the people that issue passports (in the US the State Department).  So that if someone uses it illegally your not arrested.
