  1. If I had anxiety I would take Xanax not Effexor, Effexor is an antidepressant and reduces your s*x drive.

  2. I take that drug currently 300 mg a day. I haven't experienced any weight gain but instead weight loss with it. It has a different effect on each different person. As for getting off of it, I have heard that you need to talk to your doctor in order to regulate a plan to wean you off the drug with minimal side effects. Believe me the side effects can be ugly. I have experienced the whole mood swings and brain shivers. Not fun. Good luck and I hope everything turns out okay.

  3. Weight gain was a problem, but little did I know it was only the beginning of such.   I took large doses of the vitamin "Focus Factor", and a normal daily dose Claratin to get off of Effexor XR.   I was only on the 75 mg.  Weaning off of it was still miserable. I had horrible night sweats, massive body aches, irritability, and OMG the brain shocks.... when I walked, occasionally I would feel like someone touched my head with live electrical wires.  It took about 5 to 6 weeks to feel "normal" again but very well worth it.  I will never touch that poison again..    Good luck and God speed.

  4. My cousin had these and they are soooo bad it is unbelievable.  She was recommended Liquid Calcium in capsul form and also magnessium.  Liquid calcium is very good for the body and helps to stop panic attacks and muscle spasms.  She had some side effects (withdrawal) but only lasted a wek or so.  Hope this helps.
