I was only going 27 mph and I do not consider myself running a red light, it was orange and happened to turn red and ofcourse the minute the lights turn red and a car is there the camera snaps. It was my dads car which I am not linked to what so ever insurance etc, he got the ticket in the mail with a pic of me. i want to fight this, shoudl he say he doesn't know how was driving it, or shoudl I fight it ? Thanks.

  1. Geez. I aimed one over my wife's head but it caught her in the forehead. Should I fight it?

All the excuses in the world are not going to get you out of it. You got caught! Just pay the rippin' fine and quit trying to beat the traffic lights. If you were only going 27 MPH you had plenty of time to STOP. And if the light turned amber as you were entering the intersection you had more than ample time to clear it before the light turned red.

  2. It might not have been as close as you think.  most people are not aware of how redlight cameras work. they don't take a picture of anything that crosses the limit line ( the farthest side of the crosswalk in the street) after a light has turned red.  In reality there is a sensor that see's your car from 50 yards away and it determains if you would be able to stop in time to not run the light.  And what you are talking about is a felony, you would be falsifying a police report, it would be hard to explain that he did not know who was driving his car, but yet he did not report it stolen ether then or when the ticket came in the mail.  just suck it up and pay it.  or maybe even to traffic school

  3. If you were only going 27, it would've been a good idea to just stop. If you were doing 57, it would've been a different story.

  4. fight the ticket

  5. You should stop running yellow lights...  the law states that if any part of your vehicle is in the intersection when the light is red, you are "running" the light, regardless of what color the light was when you first entered the intersection...  fighting the ticket will only result in you haveing to pay court fess along with the fine...

  6. I would like to recommend you possess as much information as you can before taking action, here is a good place for that purpose.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  7. You're pooched!  Your Dad is responsible for anyone driving his car and getting a ticket.  You should offer to pay the fine yourself. You may even be able to get the ooints transferred to your license.
