I was dropped from my online classes, what happens with the fin aid that i received?

Will I have to pay the pell grant back? Will i get in trouble? What should I do?

Yes, you will be required to pay the money back, because your school will have to return those funds to the Department of Education. Depending on when you were dropped, some of the money may be classified as "earned" - if that happens, you won't need to pay part of the Pell back. There is no way to know exactly how much you will need to pay until you receive a bill from the school.

But remember this - you won't be eligible to receive any more federal financial aid until you have settled this matter.

that happened to me and they just took the money back along with the class. the books i bought i had to pay what the pell grant didnt pay because it was taken back.
