I was eating a sandwich and Maggots were in side. Should i go to my doctor and are there side effects??

You don't have to worry about the maggots, but you might get sick from what ever the maggots were eating. It's probably rotten. If you eat tainted food, you'll get violently sick within a few hours. If you're getting sick, throwing up and have the runs, then definately go in and get checked out. If you feel fine, don't worry about it.

Yes, you should call a doctor. Pay attention to the following symptoms and note the time they begin if you don't see the doctor before symptoms start:

- severe adbominal pain

- fever (esp. over 101 F, but any fever is a sign too)

- diarrhea or vomiting

Maggots alone, other than probably being gross and full of germs if they were crawling over something worse than a sandwich before, wouldn't hurt you. But this could be a sign that your sandwich was really nasty and old.

I mean, did you forget it behind your toilet for 3 weeks or something, and then eat it sashimi style? LOL.

You have nothing to worry about, if anything maggots are a good source of protein.

They are not the best tasting, but do you more good than harm

I think you should call the doctor because maggot carry more that 99.9% of bacteria. You might get a fever or start vomiting.
