I downloaded it last night and it scanned the whole computer. I restarted the pc but I keep getting the same pop-up about a 2009 antivirus saying I have viruses. I dont want to lose the anti virus that I just purchased. I was told to do a recovery on it but I'm not sure how. Any ideas?

  1. get rid of antivirus 2009. To remove pop-ups check link below

  2. i  hope it's not antivirus 2009 that you've pruchased. cos antivirus2009 is a scam and no matter if you pay for it or not it never works as a security tool.

you should run antispyware scan to delete antivirus2009. and btw all the reports loaded be antivirus 2009 are fabricated so you can ignore them. you can read more about antivirus 2009 fraud right here http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-antiviru...

  3. if u download it from your PC and it came through the net, U now have a virus....go to search...find all files...delete and call dell and tell them U want a CD for this antivirus....then go to windows and download windows defender....call Dell and tell them the anti-virus they sent is full of bugs and viruses and U want a cd sent to you...it things get worst go to 'clam win' and download this antivirus, it is slow  but will find and kill the bugs...there is also another site U can use...'super anti spyware.com

  4. Install, update and run Malwarebytes - Anti-Malware.

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

    Which anti-virus did you buy?

  5. if you have purchased an anti virus that should be enough, delete the latest programme you downloaded its just a scam to get you to buy there software

  6. Download SuperAntiSpywar to get rid of AntiVirus 2009 (this is a rogue program)

    -Upate and scan

*if it doesnt fully remove it send me a message

  7. ok i assume you downloaded a real anti-virus and not this 2009 which is a virus. go to www.cnet.com and download ad-aware 2008 and run it it should remove the malware that is causing the popup. a recover wouldn't do you any good till the malware is gone anyway since restore only effect your systems settings and not data but to get to it start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and pick a point before the malware

  8. I had the antivirus 2009 on my computer and was getting popups all the time. I Googled a removal process and found http://www.pchubs.com/blogs/antivirus-20... and it has a free tool called smitfraudfix that removes antivirus 2009 and the infected files that make the popups appear. Worked for me. Took only 10 minutes and it was free.

  9. Antivirus 2009 is a bad virus.

    But dont worry!

Download Avast! free antivirus and do a scan. http://avast.com/eng/download-avast-home...

Also try a scan with AVG Free http://free.avg.com

    To do a system restore

    Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.

Restore to a date before you downloaded Antivirus 2009!
