The TV is kind of old school and is really heavy, the armoire is wooden and pretty dang sturdy. do I have to deal with the fact that it is just not going to fit?

  1. either that or rebuild it.

  2. KY jelly. hahah jk. that first answer gets my vote.

  3. have you tried removing the back panel (more than likely cardboard) and inserting it from the back?  most armoires have some kind of decorative trim on them and are actually bigger than they seem

  4. Either bring it in from the rear or trim 1/4 inch from the trim on each side.

  5. lol if its too big, its too big

try seeing if theres a wider way to enter the armoire

    if not

    :[ sorry

  6. See if you can remove the back and put the TV in from that direction.  The boards on the back are usually pretty thin, and you will almost certainly have to cut some sort of hole in them anyway for the various cords and cables that attach to the TV.

    Good luck!

I would find a temporary replacement for the armoire or get a TV table rather than re-doing the original furniture  because, after 2009 the TV signal is going to be digital and those sets are actually a bit less large.

In fact they are way lighter and due to the way the picture is transmitted a smaller diagonal set than the big old school one will be very satisfactory. It will also save you having to mess with the boxes, which are pretty much going to be a pain in the butt.

They also require another remote control. That, in my book is one too many remote controls.
