I can't take her to the vet yet, but she was rescued from an abusive home. I can't tell if she is going to have a large litter or if she is due soon. When I put my hand on her tummy, I can feel the kittens move, her nipples are pink, but not very swollen ( not alot of millk) I want these babies to have a chance at life.

  1. Even though you can't take her to the vet i would still ring for advice. If there is a local cat shelter i would ask advice from them as they also deal with pregnant cats and will most likely help you free of charge (unlike a vet).

Both a vet and shelter will be able to advice you on when and how to make a nest for her and if you take her to them they will try and help you figure out her due date.

  2. I would say she likely has two weeks or less to go.  You should be on "kitten watch" and be prepared for the birth any day, since you don't know when she is due.  Make sure she has some sort of birthing box (a cardboard box lined with newspapers and towels is fine).  One way you can tell she is getting closer is that she will be in obvious discomfort and be quite restless.  This is not a sure-fire sign either, though, because some cats show the signs for a week or more, some for only a day or two, and some never show any of these signs.

  3. if you can see and feel the kittens moving she probably has less than 2 weeks to go. maybe less its hard to tell since you dont know how long she has been pregnant.
