  1. I see a lot of people here talking about seed. Remember that an all seed diet is wildly unhealthy for your budgie. They should be getting a pelleted diet with a little bit of seed and a little bit of fresh food daily. More budgie diet information: http://www.budgietalk.com/diet.html#seed...

  2. What I do is the day after a fresh dish of seed, I stir it with my finger and see if there is still a lot of uneaten seed, or if it's mostly empty hulls.  If it needs to be filled, I dump it and give fresh.  Usually after only 1 day though all it needs a stir, and he can eat what was covered by the hulls.

Fresh water everyday though.  No question.

  3. Daily or every other day. Some eat more then others. If you feed fresh fruit or veg change everyday.

  4. Hmm i had two of those at one time. And i dumped it when you look and all you see is shells. Remember too keep up with thier water. Bad water is not good for birds.

  5. That really depends on how much food the bird eats. You'll need to take a good look at the bird's seeds and see if it's whole seeds that are left or just hulls. Also, you can stir the seeds up to get the uneated seeds from the bottom to the top. Just eyeball it rather than changing it out at a specific time, because you could be wasting seeds.

  6. At least everyday.  If you see p**p in it at anytime, toss it.  Bacteria from the droppings can make your bird ill.  Make sure his water is changed 2 or 3 times a day...whenever it is dirty.  Only put a small amount of food in his dish at a time, unless you are going to be away for the day.  This way you don't waste food.  Food that has been dirtied with p**p should never be re used....
