I should get? I already have dill, thyme, paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, cloves, and cinnamon. So as you can see I need to get some others. Any suggestions? Best answer gets 10 points!

  1. \Depends what you cook

Sage is a must with thyme

Oregano, and basil good for Italian things

    Chili powder

ginger, nutmeg and allspice for Holiday baking

onion powder is good to have

    celery seed or flakes

cream of tartar for meranigue and snickerdoodles

If you want to see a list and all the things they are good for I have one in my cooking group

Just a reminder that spices are better bought in a small container unless you are going to use a lot

  2. You definitely need:

    Garlic Powder

    Onion Powder

    Rosemary

    Crushed Red Pepper

    Coriander

    Poultry Seasoning

    Celery salt

and no spice rack is complete without McCormick's Old Bay!

  3. Garlic Salt, Garlic powder, Creole seasoning, Onion powder, Chilli Powder,  A must have beside Garlic salt is chicken boulion cubes, to cook in with potatoes, pastas, and gravies

you can get a variety but those, the Garlic salt and the creole are my staples

  4. the spices i use the most:

    garlic powder

    onion powder

    garlic/pepper

    seasoned salt

  7. Basil, Oregano ,Rosemary, Chili Powder, Curry Powder, Red Pepper Flakes & Ginger  are all staples in my cabinet :0)

  8. You've got some really good suggestions here.  For over 20 years I used McCormick's Salt 'n Spice on just about everything. They recently stopped making it, but offered this recipe on their website. It seems to be nearly identical to the original. I couldn't do without it.

    McCormick Salt 'n Spice Blend

    ¼ c. kosher salt

2 T. McCormick Seasoned Pepper Blend

    1 T. garlic salt

    1 T. onion powder

    1 ½ t. celery seed, crushed

Mix all ingredients until well blended.

  9. Three significant spices that you left out were rosemary, oregano, and basil. Turkish bay leaves are also a good idea.

Beyond these, I’m not going to make any other specific recommendations.  When I started adding to my spice cabinet, I tried to plan what recipes I wanted to try about a week to a month in advance.  Then I would try to locate the spices that I needed.  I purchased the spice when I needed it and when I was able to find a good deal from a reputable manufacturer.  This came in handy for things like chili, which often requires expensive or rare blends of chili powder and other exotic spices. It also works for international or exotic recipes that often call for large amounts of spices or spice blends. Buying spices shortly before you use them assures that you are not investing in spices that may sit for six months before you get to use them.  It also means that you can shop around and perhaps make a purchase or two while spices are on sale.  You can save money and also have the time to locate higher quality products.

Also, if you choose to invest in pre-mixed spice blends, be certain that you know what you are getting.  Many spice blends in supermarket shelves contain fillers and ingredients intended to prevent clumping or add freshness.  These can be undesirable for some people.  You may need to skip some pre-mixed blends and make your own for the best quality.  For example, many store blends of Cajun spices include MSG, while pre mixed lemon pepper actually contains additional spices that could ruin your dish.

  10. You could use:

    Ginger

    basil

    parsley

    Fennel

    Italian seasoning

    Meat tenderizer

    Season salt

    Oregano

    Paprika

    Bay leave

    Parsley

    Cloves For Ham

The list can go on, But if you have these to start you can add more when you get to know these. These are all good for meat, sauces, vegtebles, eggs. Just have fun cooking and learning new ideas.

  11. oregano, Basil, Nutmeg, Oregano, Parsley, Red Pepper, Rosemary, Thyme, garlic powder, onion powder.  I always keep caraway seeds and bay leaves too

Home Cooking has a list of 20 essential spices and herbs.

  12. wow there are so many.  One of my favorite stores is a little spice shop that sells almost all spices, plus coffee.

I would get a sea salt mill.  And get some ground turmeric, fresh pepper mill if you don't have one, oregano, basil, so many to list here.

  13. These are what I think of as a must:

    Seasoned Salt

    Poultry Seasoning

    White Pepper

    Dried Chives

    Dried Parsley

    Dried Onion Flakes

    Dried Garlic Flakes

    Granulated Garlic

    Onion Powder

    Chili Powder

    Italian Seasoning

    Celery Salt

Along with cinnamon, dill, and cumin

    I also have:

    Rosemary

    Ground Sage

I have different flavors to add to popcorn but I also use them to flavor meats, and sauces sometimes. The flavors I have include White Cheeder, Reg Chedder, Parmisan Garlic...etc...

Seasoned Pepper (It is a mix of black pepper, paprika, garlic etc...-like seasoned salt but in a pepper version)

    Paprika

    Red Chili flakes

    Ground ginger

    Basil...

I think that is it actually.
