  1. Only if it changes your job to RN duties. If you keep doing LVN things, that's what you should expect to get paid for.

  2. most do regardless of duties..........

that is the strange part of nursing, employers tend to pay RNs more regardless of their ability or the job they are hired for just because they are an RN. even when an RN is not needed and can perform no duties or procedures an LPN can they still get paid more.

as a business person i always  thought that was just STUPID and part of the health care expense problem.

i say that as the husband of an RN who got a raise for becoming an RN and now does less then she did as an LPN.

as an LPN she worked circles around most of the RNs and was the facilities ADON.

  3. are you still doing lvn work or have they given you r.n. responsibilities. if your duties haven' changed then no they don't have to adjust any thing but if the give you anything that an r.n. is not supposed to do then you renegotiate your new position.

pleased be advised that the management and hr over site for the medical profession is worse than any other industry. what that means is you may have to quit, and  find another job in an other facility to start being identified as an r.n. if you are very very lucky they will reward you for your additional training and not try to low ball you to keep the budget in line . at least test the waters ask several facilities what you can hire on as a new r.n. good luck tmm.

  4. Of Course!

  5. Yes, because RN's make more than LVN's. Mention it to your employer.
