I was hoping to put windows xp on my windows 98 SE, but the specs say I need a pentium prossesor?

I have the right amount of MHz on my processor but it says i need a pentium. My processor has enough MHz though. Can I still put windows xp on my computer?

  2. you may need to purchase a processor that will work..the only downfall is that xp may run slow..another alternative is to buy a new motherboard combo and use your exixting parts. it will save some money and xp will be up to speed.

  3. I really really wouldn't recommend it. If the CPU is too low a spec, then so is the rest of the computer (RAM etc)

    Even if you did it would almost certainly run so slow that it would be excruciating, or it would constantly produce errors, both within the windows OS and with the hardware you have which is too old and will cause driver issues.

    Don't do it!
