I looked everywhere for a deep fried Mars bar but couldn't find one. Are they a myth? I am going again in September. Where can I get one? preferably near the town centre

  1. hey they sold out, but they're available in loads of fish bars in cardiff!

  2. Ok trust me here, walk into any chip shop near Glasgow Buchannan Street and ask them for it, i promise you there are not a myth and people do eat them. They just dont make them and leaving them lying there its a special order!

  3. I suppose if you ask they can make you one, it's not something they tend to have sitting out!

  4. you do still get them but if you cant find a chippy that sells them why not buy a mars bar and pop into a chippy and ask them to fry it?

  5. Most chip shops will do one for you if you ask. You will definitely get one in The University Cafe, 87 Byres Rd,

    Glasgow, G11 5HN. 0141 339 5217.

  6. WELL there is less fat in them than in a big Mac & fries.

  7. i grew up in glasgow and have never seen a place where a deep fried mars bar is on sale in my life.

usual stereotypes. i am sure you can get then somewhere but they are not the national diet...

  8. There used to be one at Parkhead Cross, but I heard they aren't doing them in Glasgow anymore and you can only get them in Edinburgh.

  9. Apparently there are some 500 fish and chips shops which sell them!!

  10. any decent chip shop owner will do you one, the only down side is that cooking them aren't so good for the cooking oil.

i used to work in a chip shp and we sold a lot of deep fried mars bars and other chocolate bars besides. why not make yourself at home.

    recipe.

put a mars bar in the fridge for a few hours.

make a little batter with self raising flour, water and add just a dash of brown vinegar. keep the mixture pretty stiff

warm some cooking oil of your choice

dip the mars bar in the batter, covering completely

lower into the oil and leave for a few mins until the batter goes goldeny brown and enjoy.

    its no myth
