I was in a car accident in February and am still in alot of pain, some days are worse and some days are mild. I am currently going to a chiropracter 2-3 times a week. I had xrays and and MRI that showed quite a bit of damage. I have gotten the impression from my insurance company that they are trying to s***w me over (to put it bluntly) and I am so scared that I am going to get the shaft from this IME and have to spend the rest of my life in pain. Can anyone tell me what to expect, or share any similar experiences? Thank you.

  1. You should be able to pick the person you get the second opinion from, if not, just be completely honest... but if the injuries are as obvious as you say they are, there should NOT a problem with them reimbursing you.  They just don't want to pay anymore money toward the same issue.  Just do what they say and continue doing what you're doing.

And get better soon... hopefully you will find some relief in the future.

  2. You aren't going to be shafted if you are being honest and your injuries are real. The insurance company are only getting a second opinion since your bills are so high. They have a right to do so just as you have a right to get a second opinion from another physician. Don't worry about it.
