I was in an accident at no fault of mine. The other driver rear ended me. The officer just asked me if I had insurance. I said yes and that was that. I didn't get cited the other driver did. I am just wondering if I should provide that proof to the courts or if I should just let it go and see if I get a letter in the mail from the BMV.

  1. Most States require you to have proof of insurance in your vehicle at all times. I am surprised the officer didn't ask for it. Must have been because you were not at fault. Where I live, if you get stopped for any reason and don't have the insurance card, you walk from there.

  2. of course u need insurance if u want ur car fixed and u dont want to go to jail

  3. You don't need to do anything.  Your vehicle was insured, and you were not cited.  File a claim with his insurance company for the damages to your bike.

  4. bring your insurance card with you...

  5. Make sure you don't get stuck paying your deductible if it was his fault.
