Question:

I was in an accident and the insuring company only found $100 dollars of damage, but she's trying to get over.

She has a metal bumper/ trailer hitch guard I ahve a plastic bumper, accident was at less than 5mph now shes claiming $2000 worth of damage, my insurance co. found less that $100 worth of damage, now shee says I owe the balance of the repairs from delership. Do I owe?

  1. No. You are not liable. If she had a bunch of stuff done there that wasn't related to the accident that is her problem. She can say whatever she wants it is not your responsibility to have any further contact. If she pushes things, have her contact your insurance company so they can deal with her.


  2. No.  Your insurance company will only pay for the damage that you caused.  They will not pay for the dealer quote either.  Tell this person to contact your insurance company, you do not have to become actively involved.

  3. Tell her to kick rocks!

    You do not owe.  Your'e right- she's trying to get over and wants to see if she can get money out of you.  You've done what you need to do which was to report it to your insurance company.  Make sure you get a copy of her appraisal, and pictures of her vehicle, from your insurance company in case she tries to sue you in small claims court.
