I was installing AVG 8 but failed; error : (1) avgwdsvc.exe and (2) avgldx86.sys. How to resolve?

Try again, but from the http://free.grisoft.com and then when you get to the final download button select the download from avg server link. If it offers the repair option use this. also there is currently a problem with the updates, but this can be resolved by using the manual update as in  the answer from Kittie to question :

I do not know what is wrong with avg8, because over the last couple of weeks I have seen at least 30 askers here at Yahoo Answers with problems with AVG.

I recommend now to uninstall avg and install Avast free

Go ahead. Try it again. If it wont work, try re-installing AVG 8 then update it. For sure it will work. I've tried it awhile ago. Its been fixed.
