I was installing windows xp pro sp2 on my newly built pc?

i was doing that but i wanted to stop half-way after the formatting of my hardrive and stuff.....but everytime i turn on the computer it shows the windoes loading screen and then asks me to insert the disk...how can i delete this unfinished windows installation ???? plz FIRST answer to get 10 points

  1. you cant delete an unfinished installation, you will have to put the disc in and let it finish installing windows, if you have formatted the drive you have alresdy wiped out the previous copy of windows


  2. put your XP disc back in and start the installation over again- just make sure to format your drive when you get the option

  3. Go into your bios and change the boot order. Make it so the cd drive boots first.

    Also, Usually you can push a key at startup that will allow you to choose to boot from cd. This key is different depending on the motherboard. Usually its ESC,   DEL,   or one of the f keys

  4. Just put the installation disk back in, pick your partition and then reformat to get rid of those files (it won't take too long). Once you reformat just install and you're done.

  5. Quite honestly, the easiest way is to reinstall windows XP.  (you do not have to format the drive to re-install.)
