I live in NY and have mercury insurance (no collision) (1996 Nissan SX). Somebody failed to yield to me while they were turning left and totalled my car and I went to hospital in an ambulance but am just bruised up a little. The driver got a tix and I did not since she clearly hit me. I know NY has no fault which I guess will cover my medical bills, but was wondering maybe how much Money I may get (Car is totalled, both airbags deployed). This should all be taken out of the other drivers insurance I believe since they were the cause right? Will my insurance go up? The other drivers insurance has supplied me free of charge with a rental as well for now. What should I expect?

  1. No your insurance should not go up, you should at least get 5K for your totaled nissan, and more for your personal injuries.

  2. Your insurance should not go up.  The other insurance should pay for everything.  if you want more than your car and med bills paid, you have to submit a claim (sue them)

  3. Your insurance wont be affected..As far as compensation goes you will only get the book value on your car regardless of how much you have invested..Her insurance will cover your bills but a court of law will not give anything for pain and suffering seens as though you were just brusied up a bit.

You got the free rental,,and will get book value only..
