I was invited to join a small Church group and what do you think

I was invited from some friends I work with to attend their church. I'm only 17 and don't go to church regularly so I thought I would check it out. Its a group of about 30 and they have their meetings in a garage. they want to start their own church and currently are building a larger building in their back yard. They are hoping to grow and eventually move it off there property and become a normal church. The church is in a large garage and inside is pretty nice, but do you find it strange that they decided to make their own church and to start in a garage? IT seemed like a normal church service and i've worked with several people there for many hours and they seem like good people. IDK though seems kind of funky to me. like some cult. whats your guys oponion????

  1. The early Christians met in caves and catacombs to escape persecution. The founding of a new congregation can be difficult, but it is very exciting, and bonds the participants

    together.

Where the church is founded means little; WHY it it founded is paramount!

I think if you are looking for a home church this situation sounds really cool.

    Good luck, nephew.

  2. The church I go to now started in the pastor's living rm, with him, his wife, his sis, and one other lady. Then they moved into a conference room uptown, and now are in a building of our own. we are looking to build a bigger building soon. There just was not a church of our denomination close by, was the only reason it started that way. Most likely the same thing with your friend's church.

Ask for a Bible study to find out what they believe. See if it really matches up with the Bible.
