  1. I would not think so you are just not fit for hire as a merchant seaman collect unemployment untill you find another job you do not need to hear for


  2. Not for SSDI, that's for sure.  For SSDI, you have to be unable to work ANY occupation, and there are LOTS of jobs you can get, that don't require hearing.
