  1. It's about $2,000 a month

    I'd say rent-free, that's pretty good.

Check if that figure is before or after tax.

  2. You can use the Yahoo! Finance Currency Converter...

    http://finance.yahoo.com/currency

    1. Look for the "I want to convert..." box

    2. Replace 1 with 1000

    3. Change the first pulldown to British Pound (GBP)

    4. Change the second pulldown to U.S. Dollar (USD)

    5. Hit Enter or Click "Convert"

Look under Currency Conversion Results. The only important things to look at are the British Pound and U.S. Dollar columns. Though the results will vary from time to time, at the time I did it, your results would be:

    1000 GBP = 1,975 USD (approx.)

So 100 pounds a week for food would be about $197 US. But it's also important to take into account the Costs of Living. For example, does a loaf of bread in the UK cost more than it does in the States? How much of that 1000 pounds is going towards rent?

You might want to do a search for articles about moving to the UK like this one:

In my opinion, there is a whole lot of research you should do on who you are working for, where you are living, your lifestyle changes, etc. before you even worry about the money.

  3. It's about $2000 dollars US in wages and about $200 a week in food.  Not great since London is one of the most expensive cities in the world.

  4. 1975.31 Dollars Pay

    and 197.53 Dollars For food

    hope I Helped

  5. If someone offered you £1400 a month to be a nanny, then it is a SCAM.

Did you apply for this job ?

Did the first e-mail they sent you have your name on it ?

Have they asked you to pay any money for anything ?
