I was just sitting on the bed and the ceiling light fixture popped and sparks flew, but the lights were not on

The light fixture popped and sparks flew, but the light was not turned. The breaker did not blow and the light is functional. Um, should I worry?

I would be worried. You have a short in the fixture. I would turn off the breaker until you repair or replace the light fixture.

Call a qualified professional electrician to repair the fixture. You have a potential fire hazard.  Turn the power off to that circuit.
