I was just wondering if anyone was considering trading in or getting an extra car that gets better gas mileage

I drive a mini van, and just started working part time just to get out of the house, since my kids are now in school. I told myself, that when gas gets $4 a gallon (it already is in CA) that I would buy myself just a little commuter car for me to drive to work and back, but I can't give up my van, so it would just be my second car. I am wondering how many other people have the same idea.

  1. well, im 19 and the job pay is bad

im in las vegas where its 3.47 and rising

im about to buy my first car, its a honda crx, old yeah, reliable yup evan at 300,000+ miles, and it get 40-55 mpg depending on the model

honda crx hf, dx, sf ect....

and despite looks its quite roomy, moved all my stuff to my friends place with it

  2. No, I already have the perfect car. I have a Pontiac Vibe, it gets excellent mileage in the city and on the highway. I usually only have to fuel up twice a month and we live in Houston, so you know we go all over the place. My daughters are still in school in New Mexico and I drive up to see them at least once a month.

My brother is going to get them a car for graduation, I'm hoping they will opt for a Vibe. My younger daughter already has a motorcycle and has said many times, she was happy with her little Harley. It's good on gas.

  3. i am!!!!  i just considered this a couple days ago when i got a job offer about 35 miles from where i live (WI).  my current car is only getting about 22mpg...and gas is 3.60/gal  and supposed to go way higher still.   i dont want to spend a ton on a new/newer car, but my top choices are the Mazda3 and Mazda6.  Both are rated to get good gas mileage and my only  issue so far is that the Mazda 3 is a way smaller car then what I'm used to.

I dont know if that really helps you any; but no you definately are not alone thinking of getting a car with better gas mileage!!!

  4. I bought a motorcycle that gets 48 mpg.  I also save a ton on parking at work which is an added bonus.  I ride it whenever I don't have to take my kids along.

    Good luck.
