  1. This really supplements the perfect answer by Deepseteyes.

All power generators are equipped with Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVRs) which maintain the output current at the designed levels. AVRs are rated to operate upto the maximum designed load (amperes) of the generating unit and the load handling of the unit is not dependant on the speed of the power unit. They run at the 'set designed RPM', which is dictated by the frequency required  (Hertz) regardless of the load at any particular time. The unit caters  for the load changes by adjusting the fuel supply accordingly.

  2. Yes, regardless of load it must maintain its speed at say 20,000RPM to produce a generator frequency output of 400Hz plus or minus15Hz.

Its APU is S2000 manufactured by Sunstrand. All APU is like that that is why it is called constant speed.

  3. sorry havent a clue

  4. i learned nearly all APU are constant speed independent of load. the EGT will increase with load

  5. constant speed independent of load

  6. The speed varies based on the bleed and electrical demand and whether the aircraft is in flight or on the ground.
