I'm an American who's been following the sport for 30 years (!) and have loyally supported two clubs through thick and thin over these years...

1. FC Köln - Very competative during the 80s, slacked off in the 90s until relegation in 1998 tested my loyalty. I still consider them my #1 team.

FC Barcelona - Always competative but struggled to win trophies during the 80s. Thank God for Cruyff and the Dream Team of the early 90s. And although they've gone trophyless the past two seasons and have now hired a very inexperienced coach, I'll still cheer them on just as passionately as I did when Rijkaard and Ronaldinho we're conquering Europe.
