Im in my mid 20's and will be visiting for the first time with my boyfriend as a present. I wanted to know which area and hotels would be best to stay in. We wont have a car so something close to everything would be ideal.

  1. Young and looking for fun in Montreal? Try St. Laurent Blvd., a.k.a "The Main". Lots of bars, clubs, restaurants, fun shopping, etc.

  2. sherbrooke street has plenty of large chain hotels, in the middle of the downtown, so look there, although everthing in montreal is accessable by bus or metro so you wont have a problem getting around, just dont stay near the airport cause theres nothing worth seeing there.

  3. Anything near or along St. Catherine Street is best. It's the most popular part of Montreal, full of amazing shopping, every restaurant imaginable, and lots of trendy pubs and bars.

Personally, I have stayed at the Hotel St. Malo, 1455 rue du Fort, Montréal, QC H3H 2C2    (514) 931-7366

I's in a very safe, cute area of town, and about 20 steps away from St. Catherine St. It's near the Concordia and McGill Universities, so there will be a lot of students in the area. You are right near a metro (subway) station that will take you to the Olympic Park & Bio-Dome (a must-see for any tourist).
